Circa 1810 North Shore Federal Mahogany Tall Clock made by David Wood, Newburyport, MA. The case retains a wonderful warm patina with a desirable, old dry finish. The bonnet door opens to a painted iron dial with seconds bit, calendar aperture, and rolling moon phase dial. The dial retains it's original, untouched signature and is in a fine state of preservation. Behind the dial is an eight day striking brass movement that is fitted with a flat brass pendulum rod that is period detail that is identifiable to David Wood. The works are powered by original dome top, tin can shells filled with sand. The waist is flanked by fluted quarter columns, and a "thumb molded" rectangular door continuing to a base panel with crotch grain mahogany with line inlay all resting on original French feet.
